Juhfark is native to Somló, Hungary’s smallest appellation in western Hungary. Somló is famous for its distinctively fiery terroir; the soil is clay, sand, loess and volcanic basalt rock, and these flavors are strikingly pronounced in the delicate, thin-skinned Juhfark grape.
Somlói Vándor’s Juhfark 2019 is smoky and bright, with white pepper and golden apple on the nose and mouth. Great lively acidity with a mineral finish. Spontaneous fermentation in 500 L used Hungarian oak, and aging on fine lees for 8 months. Certified organic, low sulfites added.
