The Château Simone Rosé is a wine that belies the notion that rosés are simple wines to be drunk up young. This wine has tenacity, vibrancy and complexity. Aged in barrel, it is powerful and age-worthy. From 50+ year old vines, the wine has body, finesse and delicate fruit notes.

The history of the chateau illustrates the ongoing relationship between the vineyard and a long line of wine growers on an exceptional terroir.

Located in the commune of Meyreuil and just four kilometres from Aix en Provence, the old bastide of the Grands Carmes d'Aix monks, now the Chateau Simone, has been in the hands of the Rougier family since 1830. Old documents bear witness to the fact that vines have been cultivated here from time immemorial. The historic reputation of its wines has made Chateau Simone a prime example of the Provencal terroir. Their renown spread and the bottles, with the elegant classical presentation on the original label, found their way to the most prestigious tables and those of the finest gourmets. The cellars of Chateau Simone were dug out in the 16th century by the Grands Carmes d'Aix, a religious order.

The cellars consist of several remarkably authentic galleries on different levels and were later enlarged by successive generations of the Rougier family. Their homogeneous temperatures and natural humidity make them particularly suitable for storing and aging wines.
